    TalentFlex Solutions, a leading Business & Technology consulting firm, is actively supporting a Water Infrastructure Operations and Infrastructure Management Services client in Katy, TX  with hiring a Desktop Support Active Directory Domain Specialist. The Desktop Support Active Directory Domain Specialist is responsible for providing level technical expertise to the administrative and technical efforts involved in managing the organization's network and server operations. Troubleshoot, analyze, build, and maintain the IT Infrastructure; including MS Windows Server and Microsoft Hyper-V engineering and administration, VMware virtualization, O365 and MS Azure cloud services support, Active Directory/Group Policies, DNS/DHCP, SAN storage, capacity planning, performance tuning, backup/restore, and disaster recovery planning and update operations. The Senior Systems Engineer is required to identify, research, and resolve technical problems while providing positive leadership within the IT Infrastructure team. Technologies supported include Windows 2008R2 and Windows 2012R2 servers, VMware and Citrix XenApp virtualization, Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, Windows IIS, Dell/EMC and HP SAN storage, and HP Blade servers. Cisco routers and switches, HP Aruba WAN and Wireless devices, Check Point VPN and firewall devices. 


    • Installation of new hardware, maintenance and support of existing hardware and software configurations, troubleshooting, problem investigations, remediation, implementation and support of private network software and hardware.
    • Builds, supports and maintains Windows Server operating systems, and other related systems, appliances, and software. Manage and tracks the up time and operations of infrastructure systems and the production and development computer environments.
    • Participate, or as required, leads corporate infrastructure initiatives to ensure the company’s technology standards and security practices are followed, documented, properly implemented by associate engineers.
    • Work cohesively with customer teams (business and technology) to evolve technology solutions to meet the changing needs of the business.
    • Provide daily administration and support of customer information systems on Windows, VMware, and Citrix platforms including security, system patches, upgrades, configuration changes and the maintenance of production and test configurations.
    • Monitor systems to ensure appropriate performance and overall stability. Assist with the ongoing setup and adjustments to fully utilize SolarWinds for infrastructure appliance and threshold monitoring. 
    • Provide capacity planning for the effective use of current systems and plan for future growth. Support the company’s infrastructure strategy for system consolidation, standardization, and Cloud/SaaS first technology implementations.   
    • Participates in the formulation and implementation of SOPs to protect and ensure efficient network operation. Provides on-going documentation and reporting. Recommends and implements approved solutions/changes.
    • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to server, storage and network topology. Provide required documentation for operational handover from design and build phase of projects.
    • Contributes technical expertise and recommendations for the design and implementation of data protection management, fail-over and disaster recovery measures involving telecommunications, network and applications platforms. Provides back up support of enterprise Gateway software and Firewall technologies.
    • Plan and schedule all upgrades and maintenance in such a way as to minimize the ‘downtime’ to the end user. Establish service level agreements with the functional business departments within Inframark.
    • Upgrade, maintain and ensure the reliability of the data backup and restore environment.
    • Understand and follow the company’s policies and procedures for the security and recovery of data, systems, and computer equipment. Ensure disaster recovery procedures are feasible, practicable, efficient, tested, and implemented.
    • Follow security design and operational “best practices” to ensure the corporate network and infrastructure is operated and maintained in a secure environment. Monitor internal compliance and external threats to the mobile and desktop platforms. 
    • Follows established change management procedures when implementing, patching, or performing maintenance operations on production systems.
    • Ensure timely resolution of incident management events and request fulfillment in accordance with defined Service Desk policies and procedures.
    • Other duties as assigned by management. 


    Education/Experience: A 4-year degree in Information Technology / Computer Science field, or a minimum of 7 years’ experience in Information Technology Systems Engineering. Minimum 7 years’ experience with data transmission concepts, including network protocols, telecommunications, network cabling, wireless networking, and network security.

    Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver’s License. Certification in Network Administration.

    Certification in Network Engineering.

    May require long periods of work on both desktop and networking equipment.

    Will require long work hours sometimes involving nights and weekends.

    May require the lifting and installation of heavy network and server equipment.

    35% Travel.
